What is XML-Sitemap?



A Sitemap is an XML file that lists the URLs for a site. It allows webmasters to include additional information about each URL: when it was last updated, how often it changes, and how important it is in relation to other URLs of the site.

Importance Of Sitemap 



A sitemap tells Google which pages and files you think are important in your site, and also provides valuable information about these files: for example, for pages, when the page was last updated, how often the page is changed, and any alternate language versions of a page.

Types of Sitemap

There are two types of sitemaps:
• HTML Sitemaps
• XML Sitemaps

Rules Of Sitemap

• A sitemap can contain up to 50,000 URLs
• Site map must not exceed 50MB 

XML Sitemaps are further divided into the following types:

•     Link Sitemaps
•     Image Sitemaps
•     Video Sitemaps
•     News Sitemaps
•     Mobile Sitemaps

How to fix? 

If in a sitemap have more than 10,000 URL exist than needs to be break that sitemap. A sitemap contain maximum 10,000 URL in a single sitemap. Can create more than one sitemap in a website. Also needs to maintain the size of sitemap. From sitemap analysis easily analyse the sitemap
